Faux Fur Coats

I live in Melbourne, Australia. We are known as the “Fashion Capital” (out of all of the Australian States) a title that I’ve always quite enjoyed, and try to do my bit by representing as little fashion faux paus as possible!  Our weather here however is usually always cold, so we have to try and be “fashionable” whilst being warm, sometimes it is fun – but when you are seriously over all of your winter coats it can become a bit boring and mundayne.

I have an event on Saturday Night in an open air bar, the nights in Melbourne have been getting extremely cold, I want to look nice but be warm Ive picked out an outfit.  A little above knee length black dress (a simple cotton jersey with a long thin cotton open cardi (no buttons just a cardi the same length as the dress) in Grey or Black (not sure yet) thick tights with pointed knee high boots but I need a finish touch – a nice warm coat! I have a few, but I am incredibly over them all.

This little predicament got me thinking about coats and how I could rework my budget to get a nice one, so I did a little research and with my love for faux fur this winter this is what I came up with.

In order of preference … my favourite is a Juicy Couture, I love the tartain pattern with the gold hardware detail (same with number 3).  The second one is a cute variation of a pea coat with a fur stole, but its all one piece, and the third I think probably the collar is a bit big for me, but I love the colours and the belt to tie it in with another matching colour.

Seeing as all of the coats are from America, I guess I will have to get something here – if I want it by Saturday! Im thinking Saturday morning Op-Shopping might be in order for an hour or two, coats with faux fur collars are widespread in Op-Shops, but I bet you any money when I actually want one, the chances will be a million to one.
